Franco-Japanese painter and performance artist Tiffany Bouelle exhibited her first series of drawings "Mauvais Rêves" in January 2018 at the Tokonoma Gallery in the village of Saint Paul. Her painting underwent a profound renewal, the repertoire of her geometric forms was enriched under the influence of her travels, opening to her in 2019 the doors of her first solo show in the Marais "HAJIMARI" ("The beginning"). Her artistic vocabulary is continually expanding with combinations of interlocking shapes, while her palette is constantly balancing between bright and rich, earthy colours. Wishing to go beyond the traditional painting, she applies her experiences to other media such as tapestry, objects and performance art. "Bleu" (2020) is the first collaborative act between Tiffany Bouelle and Zephyr and Maize, premiering in July, 2020. Seeking her own voice and manifesting her definition of beauty grounded in simplicity, melancholy and asymmetry, she questions states of consciousness and self and explores problems of gender, family, sex, violence and human relationships. Her expressive performances that she herself directs and creates choreography for, go along with more traditional forms of art that she creates, such as paintings and design objects.
