KATHRYN LYNCH

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Kathryn Lynch received her undergraduate degree from William Smith College in Geneva, NY, and an MFA at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. “I am painting the poetry of place rather than the place,” says Lynch. “It’s a boat anywhere, its a sky for everyone. It’s nowhere and everywhere.” Her visual poetry starts with snapshots wrapped in memory, and opens the door to the realistic appreciation of a deeper beauty and the distinct sensitivity to the pleasures of simplicity. “Life is beautiful even in its simplest forms,” Lynch explains. “Beauty is found in unsuspecting places.” Kathryn Lynch is represented by Sears-Peyton Gallery (New York City, NY), The Drawing Room Gallery (Easthampton, NY) , Tayloe Piggott Gallery (Jackson, WY) and ARC Fine Art (Fairfield, CT).
